Tecate Grill

Looking for someplace new to try, and thinking about Mexican food, we settled in on trying a place that has been around a while, but we had never been to, or for that matter, even seen before....Tecate Grill

Located on Spokane's northside  at 2503 W. Wellesley  we didn;t know what to epect, but the place looked busy..  there was also customer in the parking lot that had just come out, carrying a to-go container.  Geo asked her the proverbial question..."How was the food?"
She gae the restaurant a rave review... and in we went!

We were promptly greeted, seated and genuinely treated as welcomed guests.

We were even given the "low down" on various menu items and our server offered to answer any questions.   We ordered three items between three of us...

.
Arroz con Pollo,
Seafood Tacos...
One is fish and one is shrimp
and Taquitos

Muy Bien!

My favorite food was definately the shrimp taco.

I liked the pics on display too....

I also like that they have veggie options on their menu...

La Cabana (Post Falls, ID)

North Idaho is a little "north of the boarder" but they still have some muy bueno Mexican food.  This is La Cabana, one of my son's favorite, located in Post Falls.  They were even open later than we expected on a Sunday evening.
I loved the painted artwork on the walls, both inside and out.

We were greeted with chips and salsa... (both spicy and mild.. even though only one is picture here.).
We found the menu to have all our favorite dishes... except for "fish taco."  They did however know their tamales!  Yum!

La Cabana is located at 604 E. Saltice Way in Post Falls, Idaho.... just over "the border...."

(....the Washington "border," that is, though you could pretend you were taking a little trip to Mexico if you'd like!)

There are some great choices for dessert, including deep fried ice cream and one of our favorites, flan!

Fiesta Charra

Mexican food!  This restaurant in (almost) Airway Heights has been here a long time.  I remember eating hear a long time ago, and I actually have a funny memory of this place....

We were going out to dine with friends.... and we were running a little late... like five minutes or so.  When we arrived, the plates on the table before our friends were soiled and it appeared that everyone had already eaten.  I feared that we had been way more than only five minutes late.  Our friends were good actors too, until we finally figured out they borrowed some used dishes from a nearby table to pretend they had eaten.  Whew!

I laughed for days!

It was Mexican food then and it is today too, and the place is filled with color and great aromas of Mexican food.
We loved the thin chips and salsa.  Unfortunately, I didn't like the photo I took of it.
The food we ordered was good too.
Chile Rellenos, Beef Taco, Enchilada, Rice and Beans

Shredded Beef Taco, Tamale, Rice and Beans

Chicken Taco, Enchilada Rice and Beans
What is not to love about Mexican food, especially in Spokane?

Dos Amigos

In the mood for Mexican food, we headed over to Dos Amigos on  Trent, (12119 E. Trent to be exact.)  This sign was great.  I felt like it really told Mexican food the way it is is mean to be... maybe a little bit like, everything you ever wanted to know about Mexican food, but were afraid to ask.. kinda thing.... or you could say, "Burritos, Tacos, and Enchiladas..."Oh My"  like you were traveling down the Yellow Brick Road or something.... IIt really says it all as far as Mexican food is concerned, so we knew this place was worth a try.  Geo was, however, hoping for his favorite... a Chile Relleno, (a stuffed chili pepper,) and was glad to find them both first thing on the menu!

.Geo used to come here for lunch sometimes when he worked in the Valley, but it had been a very long time since then.  He liked the changes.  It is a pretty little place inside and the service was great!

Geo ordered an Enchilada, Chile Rellenos and a Taco.  I ordered a Fajita.

Typically, a Mexican style dinner begins with the traditional chips and salsa....
While we waited for our rellenos and fajitas to arrive we took in the views.
There are some beautiful wall paintings here!

They also have a jukebox, loaded with all sorts of great and contemporary music from south of the border.  Seems to me, one could easily move a few tables and chairs and dance to the mariachis in this place.

Then came the food....

This is the guacamole and sour cream with tortillas for the fajitas
Yum!
Great food!

When you are done, they bring you these wonderful fried pastries called sopaipillas.
