Ben's Yogurt and Deli

Today, it was all about the deli.... I mean there I was hungry for lunch and there was Ben's, just waiting for hungry ol me.  So this time, instead of driving past, I went in.

 They have a great selection.  One customer who was eating saw that it was my first time here and told me he goes there often... loves the food, and that is really fresh.  He was right.  It is good.
I had a veggie wrap....with cheese and avocado.. and all the veggie fix-ins... "To Go."

Ben's is great.  It's clean, friendly fast and fun.... (I happen to think of frozen yo cream yogurt with toppings as "fun.")

I had driven past many a time in my travels around town and I had heard rumor too that this was a great little spot.  I just had to try it for lunch, and as advertised, it was very good!  But the best to me, is the frozen yogurt.... just ask Geo   Yo Cream frozen yogurt is become a once a week adventure for us.


Yo Cream is 25 calories per ounce, made with real fruit ingredients, uses no rBST and contains live cultures.... so it is good food!

Ben only has six flavors (as compared to some yogurt shops that have maybe twelve or ten, but he has toppings galore! The fresh fruit stand even offered blackberries that day, yum!  And I noted too that he has good sanitation practices.  He has signs requesting for parents to assist younger children and he keeps a hand sanitizing station right next to the self serve machines.  I liked that part a lot.

I found Ben's to be a friendly neighborhood mom-and-pop type of food stop with the added plus of offering self-serve frozen yogurt.

Timber Creek Grill Buffet

Timber Creek Grill is located at 9211 E. Montgomery in Spokane.  It's a Spokane original, brought to us by the same people who gave us Granny's buffet.... only the theme is more that of a lodge than your grandma's place.  Timber Creek has expanded and now also has a restaurant in Lewiston ID.  They boast that they have something for everyone... and it's true.  the variety here is quite pleasant.  They have different menus depending upon the day of the week.  Check their website.








We tasted many things and liked them all, especially the chicken and dumplings.... and macaroni and cheese.

 The Ice cream for dessert was great too.

I have to admit, my favorite thing was the chicken and dumplings and the salad bar.  the salad fixings  sure was pretty, and it was delicious too.  Besides, the salad went great with my steak, which was cooked to order.    That was delicious also, and I put mushrooms and onions on that.  I did think the steak to be a little salty, but it was just the right size and went perfect with the salad.
 The salad selection was amazing....

Here is a mystery to solve.... I would like to know why the onion slices at salad bars are always so large... as are the cucumber slices.  You can make some pretty cool towers, that is for sure!  I find that I always have to cut them into smaller pieces myself.  But I have another question..... maybe a bigger mystery..... and that is, "Why do men like gravy so much?"

Chairs Coffee

Chairs...
           ...is a little coffee shop near the downtown area  It is on Indiana just west of Division St on the south side of the street.  I was tipped off by my ds to go and give this place a try.  I did, and it was great.  The buisness as well as the coffee has a bit of a political flavor to it... (or is it religious?)  Interesting it's a bit of both... but this is America, land of the free... home of the brave.  We Americans actually have freedom to to do such things...

Got to love that!

that reminds me, I love the concept of taking and ordinary thing and celebrating it, as the owners have done here with "chairs."  There are chairs... all over the place... even taking the place of the letter "h" in the name.  Clever!

The coffee was great and the food delicious!  The people working there were helpful and as nice as could be!  

Needless to say, it was a great little coffee and lunch stop for me and a friend that day.  

We ordered coffee and lunch but simply gazed at the desserts.... 







 and we decided to sit outside on a sunny day.




Our sandwiches came with chips or salad.  We had one with chips and one with salad.  One was turkey and the other veggie.
