Celebrations!

Celebrations is a cookie and cupcake shop.  I have heard so much about their cupcakes that when the opportunity to go and see what it was like arose last month, I just had to give it a try

Blast!  The picture is dark!  (Sorry.)
It was a cloudy day.  But you can see their sign!
Celebrations is located on Garland Street, somewhere between Post and Howard..  The address is 713 West Garland Avenue and they have their own parking lot, so parking is not an issue.  It was not quite what I expected inside.  I kinda anticipated more sit down space.

The did have cupcakes.

I ordered six.   I do not remember the exact flavors of the ones I ordered, except for the ones in the middle which are S'Mores.

Mine came with me to a friends house.
Lynnie and I shared a couple.  Our first choice was the one that looked like chocolate.

We liked them, but from my personal perspective, I have to say that I am not too sure what all the fluff is about "cupcakes."  I gather, it's because people love the frosting.  There was lots of frosting!

Personally, I am not into the frosting.  I like my cupcake light on the frosting, but I know when I am cutting cake people often ask for the corner, or the one with "lots" of frosting on it.  The one thing that cupcakes do have going for them in my book, is that they are definitely celebratory and very pretty.   They certain make celebrating things, like friendship fun!  Most of all they are simply fun to eat, especially with friends.

Bistro on Spruce - Coeur D' Alene ID

A great little restaurant, in Coeur d' Alene is the Bistro on Spruce, located.... well, as you might have guessed, on Spruce Street.  The exact address is 1710 N. 4th St.  A friend and I went here together, at her recommendation.
The atmosphere was quaint and comfortable, with a nice selection of tables or more private eating in a booth, and the table decoration was the kind that makes one feel right at home:

It's a glass... with a pair of readers in it.   I thought it was a great idea and a nice welcoming touch.  IT came with a message too....

We had our own vision aids, so we scoped out the menu.

I ordered the Portobella  Mushroom and Componata Sandwich.  This was a bit of a stretch for me, as I have not eaten one of these before, and I didn't even know what "Componata" was. (I had to ask.)
Componata is eggplant.

It was a delicious vegetarian sandwhich.

My friend, ordered the Ahi-cado with a salad.  Both were great.

Yum!   Hurray for life, and good food!

Texas Roadhouse - Coeur D Alene, ID

Yee-HAW!

If you are looking for a fun and busy atmosphere, goood food with fast and friendly service to boot, this may well be it!  You will find ten gallon hats, dancing in the isles and peanuts galore! It's called the Texas Roadhouse, and the best part is that you do not have to go to Texas to eat here.  There is one in nearby Coeur D' Alene!  We went here with some friends and had a great time.

The jukebox was the first thing to catc my eye...  That and the peanuts!  They were everywhere....

..... as were the birthday celebrations.

The Texas Roadhouse is a lively place with a Southwestern flare, and if it's your "special day," they sit you in the saddle with a ten gallon hat and sing you a little tune!

In addition, occasionally, the servers break out in song and line dance in the aisles....

And then there's the food....

Chili:

 Salad:

Shish Ka Bob

B-B-Q Ribs

.... and more..... all from their little kitchen.
